Independent Tasks
All students throughout the project were given the tasks of using pivot man and Automatoon to create a 2D animation.
Pivot man is a downloadable program. In Pivot Man students used other programs such as Windows Paint to create backgrounds. Students also accessed other websites (www.droidz.com) to download sticks (these are creations that can be inserted into a pivot).
Automatoon is a program where you make different parts of a character and stick them together with animated split pins. This enable you to be able to move the character in a unique way. Students accessed Windows Paint to make different parts of bodies and then inserted them into the Automatoon animation.
The online blog was used to host specific video tutorials. Students were required to go online and watch the tutorials. They then were given time at school to complete their Automatoon.
There were many issues encountered. Unfortunately many students completed some fine work but were unable to save it due to technical issues with both pieces of software.
The students did a great job with limited teacher input. I was truly impressed with the students ability to problem solve and come up with solutions to ensure their animations did things they wanted
